2021 was the last time I painted until March 2022. The pandemic and work situations contributed to much of this.
As an introvert, I thought the pandemic would be a paradise for me since I thought I did not need social interaction. As it turns out, as much as I don’t need much social interaction, I need to see people, I need to know they are ok. This hit me hard and made me think about the nuances of community. I quickly realized that we do need each other, even if we are not in communication verbally or intentionally meeting up, there is an invisible communication highway at play each time we encounter one another.
Work-wise, I am at a stage in my life where I want to do work that has an impact and aligns with my core values. To that effect, I quit my job and took on one that feeds my needs. This decision proved correct as it unlocked a plethora of work. I did ten paintings in March 2022 alone and I have more ideas lined up.
The moral of my story, if I align myself with my core values, I will be in a place that brings me much joy. With that being said, enjoy!
