I looked love in the eye and hoped to die

Upon words of rejection

I grew a lonesome infection

Each morning I awake to a lie

For I dream of you and in my arms you’d lie

It was just another dream

And my life a dream too

Couldn’t afford a scream

My tears

My companions

They stream

For I gave my all-to a dream

Keeping nothing but a stifled scream

You can’t hear me

For you drifted away

Slipped away

I wish you would know

How I adored your stay

I looked love in the eye

And hoped to die
